Little People is the nom-de-guerre of Anglo-Swiss producer Laurent Clerc.
Quirky and charming, ...
the name suggests, Little People inhabits the often earnest world of instrumental hip-hop, but instills it with a little fun and a dash of personality. Clerc was born and raised in Switzerland with Swiss and English parents.
He grew up, during the '90s, listening to American and English Hip-Hop.
He confesses he tried his hand at rapping for a minute. “I did dabble with MC’ing, but we’ll try and keep that quiet,” he requests.
Little people’s sound is part beats, bleeps and snippets of other people’s music. Stemming from hip hop, it effortlessly combines warm synths, intricate melodies and string arrangements. Based out of Brighton, England until A move to Portland, OR in 2014.
